already read manga, you know this is have sad stories, she is not overpowered like other isekai character, she must survive with weak body, looking for food alone in the forest.
She's just a child who needs his parents' love everything she does is alones, she is traumatized by being dumped by her parents. when you watch it later, you will feel angry feelings towards the main character's parents |

Slimes are adorable, that's why. That said: This one is a bit different. It doesn't do the whole "[Insert Class] is the weakest class but is secretly strong?!?!?!?!" thing most series do. It's *still* kinda a terrible class and the slime, while unique, isn't exactly OP either (at least not in the combat sense). |

I've only read the first volume but yes it's clearly not going in the same direction as most tamer fantasy.

So a female lead story! Sucks about her parents though.

I just misread the title to be The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash Fantasy Novels
Would be an interesting premise though |

Take away OP and all of a sudden you have drama and tension even in the simple activities. Now the question: Is the writing and story engaging?

I didn't even remember this one being an Isekai.

Based on the illustration this looks adorable.
That is funny. |

It's because it's one of those reincarnation series where their previous life doesn't really dictate who they are in their new life. From what I had seen her past life only really exhibits itself rarely as something like a conscience or as minor knowledge she possessed but hadn't really thought about where she had learned it from (such as using certain plants as a seasoning in food). |

This is the strangest type of isekai to me, because it means there's no reason for it to be an isekai, other than because it's trendy. And it feels like that's more common lately. Will the overabundance of isekai end up fading away as people gradually realize that many of these stories are just fantasy plots with "hero is reincarnated from our world" thrown in as an afterthought? I don't mean to say they're all bad stories, but it feels like most of them would be improved with a more creative backstory than just "used to be an ordinary man, woman, or high-schooler until they died and got sent here via deus ex machina, which we'll never mention again because it's not interesting." It feels like publishers don't think a character is relatable enough unless they start out as more or less the exact same person as the reader. |

i see that coming pretty often and in some cases i agree with it.
but in other cases it not being a Isekai ends up actually being far worse, assuming similar quality of writing. Isekai allows you to have rule/logic breaking characters without relying on the genious trope, I think the simpler version is that Isekai makes it so the character lacking common sense on the world is actually something logic and not just an ass pull |

This. So much this. I would love so many isekai stories more if they were just straight up fantasy stories. |

Nope, it's very important to this story. Without her knowledge of her past life or the hidden mental fortitude of an adult, Ivy would likely have just accepted her fate and died. Even if she was just a reincarnation from the same world, she would have just been more inclined to go with the cultural norms of this world. Even if she doesn't reinvent the internet, spread Japanese cuisine, or have amazing kendo skills (etc), the fact that she is from a modern world with modern values is key. |
