Gundam The Witch from Mercury being on the list seems like the series is doing well, even if it's just getting started. I mean, there was that article mentioning that Gundam shows aren't as popular with younger viewers, but those ratings seem fine. I don't know how were the rating for other Gundam series like SEED or 00, or other popular mecha series from the last 20 years like Code Geass or Macross Frontier, though I do remember hearing SEED doing great ratings wise.

Well, it also comes with the fact that it's also a prime-time evening show (Code Geass and Macross Frontier were late-night shows and 99,9% of them never make the cut in top TV ratings outside of a few exceptional hits - but ironically this season have one of this with SpyXFamily, and next week we will see if CSM first episode goes through), so it's hard to compare.
But current ratings look not bad and probably better than IBO for sure, but we will see how it goes by now for an average.

I know Code Geass first season was broadcasted late at night, but I think season 2 was moved to a 18:00 p.m and then to a 17:00 timeslot. Gundam SEED was aired on saturdays at 18:00 p.m as well.
Demon Slayer season 2 aired at 23:15 and was behind Sazae-san ratings wise so perhaps CSM can enter the Top 10, not that high but we'll see.

Demon Slayer is basically the Mongols. It's the exception to everything.
Back to Gundam, though, I've heard SEED Destiny was absurdly popular in its day, though I don't know if that was just disc-wise or if it was reflected in its broadcast ratings. A Ctrl-F through the Encyclopedia pages for IBO suggests that one never hit the top 10, though.
