Oh, Irvin is in the anime. That means they will adapt at least the first 2 volumes of the LN.

This anime has two personalities:
Anime News Network wrote: | Lady Elianna Bernstein comes from a family of readers – and that might be putting it lightly. All she, her father, and her older brother really want to do is retreat to their family estate and read, but during her debutante season at court, Eli is proposed to by Prince Christopher, the heir to the throne. She's not keen on the idea of marrying him, but he offers her access to the royal archives, a repository of rare tomes, and tells her that her social duties will be limited if she accepts. Eli decides that this is worth being his show fiancée, because why else would he propose to a girl better known as “the library ghost.” It turns out that Chris definitely has his reasons. |
J-Novel Club wrote: | When book-loving Lady Elianna spots Prince Christopher—her betrothed in name only—consorting with another noble lady, she realizes the recent rumors must be true. The prince has someone he truly loves, which means the annulment of their engagement is both inevitable and fast-approaching. What she doesn't realize is that this is merely a surface ripple—one of many where the truth runs deep, in a conspiracy surpassing her imagination! |
It's almost like schizophrenia, trying to figure out what storyline is the show's priority.

Well, both are technically correct. J-Novel Club's description is actually just the main plot of the first volume and even then, it gets resolved halfway through the book so don't expect it to last more than 3 episodes in the anime.

Books. Check. Upgrade in social status. Check. Sounds like a romance-focused Ascendance of a Bookworm. Seems like this is going to be my jam!
Now that I'm nearly done with the Ascendance of a Bookworm novels, I'm beginning to see startling similarities with recent fantasy/isekai series that focus on books / healing powers (an example that comes immediately to mind is the Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent). While admittedly I enjoy these stories a lot, I recognize that beneath the surface, they are wish-fulfillment fantasies where the supposedly nerdy (often female) protagonist through some contrivance in the plot still manage to come up on top.
Makes me wonder whether Ascendance started the trend or it just happened to be the most successful of the lot. I mean from what I could tell so far it's the only one of its kind that placed in the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi rankings (and placed 1st no less )
