imagine that the anime focus on the lesbian who fights against this system, at least it would be an active character that moves the plot as opposed to the protagonist who does nothing.

The 4/5 star rating at the end of this ep7 review really is the cherry on top.
Hey those couple of posters who never returned back at page 1 can’t say you’re being a big negative nancy on the show at least! You’re not taking it as seriously as they apparently did but that’s okay hahaha

Just to be clear, I don't advocate violence toward women but really don't appreciate cruelty especially from those who should be sensitive and apologize for letting myself go too much on the "teach them a lesson" side of that muddled as it was. That said, I'm disappointed in Doi-kun as well for letting himself go in that regard. I have never watched Redo of Healer for what it's worth. Also reiterating that the depictions of the women at the school and what some are willing to do this week to "mate" seems to belie a disturbingly poor opinion by the author despite manipulation by Karen-san.

well, gonna say i had jumped in the doi hate train as soon as he showed up in the manga. his character arc from wimp to rapist was great.

I consider this a failure of the writing as in the manga it shows a third guy right away, some kind of Chad that the reader is supossed to hate in contrast to the "nice" guys, yet from the start he 2as best boy and as the plot progresses he remains on top, his whole ordeal was " so i am a sex toy! ok, i will be a sex toy, have fun". that was sincere, honest and let the people who have been fighting with the problem keep their agency.

He is a victim of trauma, yes, but even victims have a responsibility, however unfair it may be, to pursue healing once they have the opportunity to do so.

That is absolutely uncorrect. Victims of bullying have no responsibility of any such sort.

It is the responsibility of society and government to punish bullies for their criminal actions. In some cases were even asked to forgive or be merciful to bullies, because judicial actions against them may destroy their future.

You want the victims of bullying to heal themselves, well, give them justice first.

You are conflating "healing" with "revenge", and that is what's absolutely incorrect. A person doesn't need to take revenge on their bullies to heal, and even if they do take revenge they can remain every bit as damaged as before.

And yes, victims do have a responsability: the same responsability of not being criminals every citizen of this world has. Having suffered an injustice doesn't give you a free pass to do whatever you want. If you are raped by someone, then rape them in turn, you are still going to jail as a rapist.

Which is why there is no "justice" in this episode. Only injustice piled on top of more injustice.

Misunderstanding here, I am not referring to the fictional episode or anything that has happened in it.

But rather to the statement that victims have some sort of responsibility, because they are a victim of a crime. Being law abiding citizens is a given. So I am not talking about revenge, I am talking about stop putting the responsibility on the victims, and put it on the bully. I have been on the receiving end, when I was a kid, and I watched the school system punish my daughter for physically defending herself against boys that were bullying her. So I have no tolerence for statements that put more pressure and responsibilities on the victims of bullying.

Gotta say, I'm not really comfortable with the framing of "a responsibility to pursue healing" either -- it smacks of conflating mental health with morality. And historically speaking, "you have an obligation to improve your mental health, as measured by others" has rarely led anywhere good. (Also, there's a rabbi I follow on Twitter who occasionally talks about how she doesn't really find "healing" and "recovery" to be great frameworks for viewing responses to trauma, compared to "growth" or even just "living".)

Doi doesn't have to have "healed" to not be horrible to girls he's mad at.

Personally, Doi's Arc has never given me the impresion of atempting to be any sort of Revenge Porn story, if anything it seems more about a tale of corruption.

I don't think it is fair to dismiss this with a "Sexual harrasement is bad, and the show showed it therefore it is shit" argument.

I don't think it is even right to call anything that has happened here as Sexual harrasement. if I remember correctly, No one except Doi's Pet was brougth to that "school" forcefully, they all signed themselves up so they could utilize Doi in Order to gain some sort of social advancement

This is a story in which Doi slowly realized that no one cared for him and all this women were just whoring themseleves and buttering him up for their own self gain, this combined with his past trauma let him to slowly lose his morals and just accept the world for the cruel place it is and exploits the levarage he has for his own petty enjoyment, since he lacks any real sense of purpouse or ambition he is just withering away in his own deabuchery, while Karen slowly exploits him as the figurative woman behind the curtain.

To be clear, I firmly believe Doi has become an aweful person and a bonefide villain, he is keeping a freaking human pet for goodness sake, that alone involve a whole page of itemized human rights violations. My point is that the show has never tried to present his scenario as a cliche "nerd revenge fantasy wish fulfillment", Doi's arc has never meant to give the viewer any sense of cathartic feeling over him getting the supposed "justice he deserved", it is just a presentation about a wounded person becomeing ever more cynical and selfish when presented with some leverage of their own. Likewise I don't think karen is meant to be there so the show can eventually use her to absolve Doi of any responasbility, if anything it is commentary about no matter how much he might feel like the king of the world he is just a tool and wilfully letting himself be utilized by the real powerfull people, as long as he can get his short sighted petty pleasure, in short it is just meant to make him look more pathtic not to make him look like another victim

This show is very poorly written and I concur it should have focused on beeing dumb echi fun. but ultimately it's story is what it ended up beeing and we should at least try to understand what is happening on screen rather than just lazily dismiss it as revenge porn or what not

Well, there he goes...After all this, I wonder like the reviewer what the point of Doi's "arc" is, or is supposed to be, now that the story tries to jump-start the overarching mystery plot again. Also wondering from what Karen said if the other girls have low fertility and so aren't expected to get pregnant but Shion is...And the girls Doi is "doing" seem to not be enjoying things much unless that is just the show failing on the visual presentation of an orgasm. Or maybe they are trying to portray actual hurt? Not erotic in the slightest. And the ED seeming to portray Doi and Reito as connected or opposites... Confused Not buying any of this...
