Tough now that the story is ending. I know we have been blessed with anime adaptation announcements for series ended years ago, but I still think it is better to remain cautious about stuff like this. This is one heck of a run for a manga though. Congrats! |

Chihayafuru 2 came out in 2013 and Chihayafuru 3 came out in 2019. It hasn't been long at all. There are a lot of anime that release new seasons to coincide with the manga ending, whether or not they completely cover all the new material.
Edit: Also I didn't realize Kodansha USA was so far behind in releasing the manga, we're almost 20 volumes behind! Get your butts in gear, Kodansha, at this rate we really will have an anime ending before we get to read the whole manga in English. |

Chihayafuru is an amazing anime. I read the manga because I couldn't wait and it was pretty clear it was ramping up towards the end.
Hope this encourages them to do at least 1 or 2 more seasons to finish the story anime-wise |

I expected Chihayafuru to end this year, but I thought the author would go for 50 volumes. Still, considering how much she's already milked the final matches, I'm glad there's only one more volume to go, and I hope it doesn't take too long for NTV and Madhouse to make a fourth and a fifth season to finish off the anime.
