I think it’s a worldwide release as it will streaming in other territories.

Looking forward to rewatching the original trilogy and this.

If it's on a service I'm already paying for, I might watch it? Not sure where I'm drawing the line here.

Just checked the trailer. The trailer’s dubbed in different languages, including English. So yeah, it’s getting a dub.

I didn't expect Netflix since I thought Funi had the other live action movies. That is a fast release, and I'm cautiously optimistic about getting the second of the two movies quickly.

Well it is just like how Netflix got Sailor Moon Eternal even though Hulu and Viz Media has Crystal. There is also Teasing Master Takagi-san that Funimation has Season 1 of but Netflix got Season 2. Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress was released by Funimation but Netflix has The Battle of Unato movie.

Netflix and Funimation seem to be having a weird pissing fight, aren't they?

Kabaneri was Amazon, not Funi.

Considering Viz backed out of releasing more of the Hokkaido manga, I think we can guess why FUNi passed on this.

Kabaneri was originally Amazon, then it was licensed and dubbed by Crunchyroll and FUNi's release was part of the original FUNiroll deal.
