My main bet is that GKIDS is so going to get the USA rights to this film before 2022 for this awards ceremonies seeing how they really did well with Mamoru Hosoda's last movie Mirai.

I'm guessing the Beast is that boy in the rain with the hair covering his one eye?
Music and animation are both gorgeous. The female lead kind of reminds me of Mitsuha from Your Name.

I was hoping for either Funimation or GKIDS to dub the movie….But who knows, right?

My assumption is that GKIDS will definitely grab this one. Funimation did good work on Summer Wars, Wolf Children, and Boy & the Beast, but GKIDS has an industry pull/reputation that's hard for other indie/foreign animation distributors to really match. I see no reason why Hosoda + the Studio Chizu team shouldn't stick with them.
