US should be safe. If you're in the UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, Sweden, well, proceed at your own risk. Fortunately I'm myself in Finland, importing nsfw figurines, nsfw loli dakimakuras, or even items such as print copies of Comic LO, is no issue... Really the only issue is I have to use a shopping service for those because the sites that sell them don't tend to accept foreign orders...

why should you even be at any risk? They're fictional.

It's safe. I periodically add lewd figures or tapestries to my collection and have never encountered any problems. Plenty of stores offer them for sale. Some, such as AmiAmi have dedicated adult sections on their sites.
Usually you just get a disclaimer warning you to be cognizant of the laws in your country regarding such material, and that the store will not be held responsible for any issues.
The merch in this article probably wouldn't even fall under the adult category in most stores as it's standard fare without any nudity. Although I think a few stores like CDJapan might pass on that Alice scroll and daki since loli stuff is a grey area they rather not deal with.

Absolutely, in a perfect world it shouldn't be an issue at all. But if you're an individual living in UK, try explaining that to the Customs or the lawmakers ...

Wow even Comic LO? I wonder if the US would be fine with that one. Is it plastic wrapped or completely uncovered?

Shrink-wrapped. Anything print directly from Japan tends to be shrink-wrapped, though I do occasionally get the odd artbook that isn't...

Anything? I figured it would just be more mature rated stuff. Maybe Comic LO would actually be fine in the US then since as far as I have seen the covers aren't sexual are they? Not so sure what would happen if the inside was visible though... The US seems fine with anything as long as its fictional, but idk some people seem to have trouble separating fiction from reality and I feel like fiction and the people that enjoy it may end up suffering for that.

Feel I should clarify that there is absolutely no problem with ordering ecchi stuff off the internet if you live in Australia. There are regulations on what stores can ship straight up porn, and I'm not interested in f'ing around and finding out what those limits are. But I've definitely bought fanservicey anime merch and faced no issues. This is a show that can be legally streamed in Australia, so I can't imagine why buying merch for it would be an issue.

In Germany there are clearly defined import restrictions regarding pornographic and erotic material, but I always felt like it was handled like a grey area since I can remember. The only supervisory authority here is the custom house and if you order stuff from regular online shops, auction sites or official special interest shop sites you won't get into trouble as long as the content is covered due DDP and as long as you don't order real porn video material and discs but I can't tell for sure based on my experience from sporadic orders.
Most known otaku shop site products aren't DDP so the stuff you ordered will be stored at the custom house where you have to pick it up. If you can show the staff the shop bills plus any information that makes clear what kind of product it is you won't get into much trouble. Sometimes the staff will ask you to open the package to check the content, but only occasionally (most likely depending on the size of your package or on your information that you filled out on your forms and on the distributor - they tend to check the deliveries by private sellers more often than from official shop sites).
I ordered some doujinshi books but (fortunately) hadn't to open the package back then. My friends ordered some pretty lewd dakimakuras and eroges, they were asked to open the content but all they got were just weird looks and reactions but nothing too drastic. I guess it can only cause an issue with real pornographic material like AV videos but never heard of such a case within my network.
There are additional import taxes, but you pay for it occasionally on a random basis, probably also depending on the amount, size or times of your import deliveries.
