Well, as long as the script was well executed, then this is the best work to produce before fading away to say the least.

Probably explains why the pacing was so horrendous.
As long as they don’t bring him back, it’s understandable.

Until something like this goes to court, the man is innocent until proven guilty.

None of what he's accused of is criminal; I wouldn't expect this to ever go to court.

I knew the name Kevin Kolde looked really familiar. He used to be heavily involved with John Kricfalusi’s Spumco animation studio! That’s right; he was not only the Vice President and General Manager of the studio, but he also helped produce many of John’s later series.
This is...really concerning. I had to look up Warren Ellis’s allegations against him again to refresh my memory, but a lot of these accusations seem really similar to a lot of the abusive and predatory accusations against John K (though no underage person or people that I currently know of has accused Warren Ellis of anything yet). Seems to me like Kevin Kolde has a history around predatory and abusive men...

Warren Ellis pretty much built his entire persona around being a not-so-nice person back in the 90s. I suppose it was only a matter of time until it came back to bite him and people cared enough to do anything about it. No doubt Season 4 was already late into production by the time the allegations came out.

Warren Ellis literally acknowledged that all the complaints are valid and he's embarrassed to having behaved in a way that made them so. Stop acting like an ostrich, it's embarrassing to watch.

Anyone expecting the writing and characterizations to be exactly like it was for the games was setting themselves up for disappointment not because of the well known fact that adaptations make changes from the source material but in this case the source material didn’t exactly have much for the writers to adapt to screen anyway.

No, I simply expected something not boring most of the time...also, I'm not a huge fan of the games, so...

I'm okay with the staff using Warren Ellis's scripts for the final season a shame about his unreleased DC projects being axed some of the concepts were kinda of promising. This may likely be one of his last released projects I suppose time will tell.

Unfortunate for you, as the show and the amount of S4 I've seen thus far are pretty great.

[removes glasses, puts face in hands, sighs] I was hoping I could enjoy the last season even more with Ellis off the staff. Now I don't know what to think, knowing his work was still used.
It's one thing to make a show of contrition. It's another to actually make amends and improve one's behavior.

Lets say he's a bad guy. He is at minimum not a particularly good one. I still think it's a mistake to throw out good work from less than good people. History is full of famous people who have done things everyone loves that weren't particularly great people if you look around a bit.
The problem with boycotts for situations like this or "cancel culture" is that it serves absolutely no one. It leaves us all with less. The core of it is basically vengeance. It is about ruining those who hurt others. But this is not the right way to do justice. The right way should be about giving back to victims and helping them get past what happened, not about destroying the perpetrator.
Some people are concerned this can "re-victimize" the victim. This is only true if you teach people they should be sensitive to past slights instead of growing more resilient. Another concern is that the perpetrator still gets to keep their good position. There is truth in this concern, so it is appropriate for there to be some level of penalty, but this needs to be as close to the person as possible and measured.
Companies are not firing people these days largely because they are truly afraid of boycotts of their products. Most people aren't going to start using a product they like over this kind of thing. It is largely because of the moral grandstanding of their own employees and executives. We really need to stop doing that. It isn't good for anyone. And to try to strip politics out of this, both the left and the right do this sort of thing when people transgress against their values. They both need to stop it.
