Because technically Toonami is under the Adult Swim Brand.

Adult Swim isn't just a broadcaster. They are also a company that produces or co-produces anime on occasion, so a merging of assets from higher up the ladder can change things for the anime they're involved in the production of. For instance, this might affect the production of the previously announced Uzumaki anime which got pushed back until sometime in 2021 (Adult Swim was announced as a co-producer on the title and it's planned to debut on Toonami). Warner could theoretically decide not to work with any outside teams anymore and cancel the production of Uzumaki and any other anime partnerships that haven't even been announced yet, even if Adult Swim wants to proceed with them. They also might not do anything at all.
It's just good to know when behind the scenes mergers happen, because it could affect projects.

IF this helps Adult Swim produce more original content like Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal then I'm down for it but no way in hell to know if this is a good thing or just a mundane thing for Adult Swim and HBO Max. I would love to see more original adult animation content on HBO Max given I'm already paying for the damn app now.

If she can somehow renew Infinity Train, then I'll be 100% on board with this.

Hopefully the latter. It'd be stupid for them to pull the plug on Uzumaki now. Shenmue, maybe, but not Uzumaki.

There is no way Uzumaki, Fena Pirate Princess, Shenmue, Blade Runner and whatever else will be cancelled.

Pretty much. Stuff like this affects new projects going forward, any existing projects under contract that have already been funded keep going. WB isn’t gonna cancel stuff they’ve already paid for and risk having to pay cancellation penalties in a process intended to lower costs.
