I also wonder which version of Seed they used since Right Stuf got the wrong (broadcast) masters for the HD remaster and is currently working to replace discs. I'm guessing FUNi just went with those for now unless they got the correct masters directly from Sunrise.

This reminds me, I don't think they've ever officially announced the cast for the Seed Destiny redub.

How can it drag the pacing by being less than half the length and cutting all the "filler"? Space kinder garden episodes kill the pacing way more than any rough cut they had to do for the movies.

I’m really excited to see the original Gundam will finally be streaming and it will be nice to see more of the UC shows added later. Besides the side story OVAs like 08th MS Team and War in the Pocket and the movies randomly streaming temporarily on the official YouTube channel, most of the UC Gundam has been physical release only for years now, which has made it a lot harder to recommend the UC Gundam shows to fans who have never watched it. And the TV series version of 0079 is great if only for the Ocean dub.

They probably haven't been working on it all that long and are just holing off until they schedule the release.

The cuts Tomino made hurt the shape of narrative and made it felt aimless at times especially for Soldiers of Sorrow. He should have made four movies.

Funimation's blog post specifically mentions that it's the HD Remaster. The original dub is almost certainly going to be the domain of collector's editions and pirate sites from here onwards.

I hope Toonami airs these old school Gundam shows again. If Funimation scoops them up, it looks like a sign they'll air again.
