I have been waiting it feels like forever for this announcement. I am pretty sure I will buy the digital release then the Limited Edition when that gets released on blu-ray.

Sooooo much sooner than I expected, I love surprises like these, especially consider Japanese BD is only set to release on May 27th, we are only 4 months behind!

Although I have to wonder why north American Limited edition is set to release on November, two months later, licensing restrictions on extras?

Or you could buy it now from Japan. It has English subs.

Anyone ever compare a GKIDs release with a JP? Companies like Funimation (For some unholy reason) tend to reencode and lower the visual quality of releases. I haven't heard anything positive or negative about GKIDs blu-rays tho.

I wonder when they will announce details. I assume it will come with the dub, but will it also have a dub for all the songs not dubbed in the theatrical screenings? And what can they add in the collector's edition besides peripherals? OST CD and artbook, I guess?

Didn’t Your Name release only 2 months after Japan, with the LE released at the same time as the regular BD/Dvd? So by comparison this is much slower than Funimation handled it.

I'll probably pick this up at some point, though dunno if it'll be right at release. Got the chance to see the movie in theaters and while it's not as good as Your Name I did very much enjoy it.

The movie was alright. Naturally it'd be tough to follow up the success that was Your Name, but the story was still kind of lacking something, and the supernatural part felt half baked.

But the main attraction of Shinkai movies is the lovely production, so I'd pick it up for that reason alone.
