Before that, the hashtag had been used for other Sailor Moon fanart, but not that specific image, which became the basis of the meme.

On May 6, 2020, Twitter artist norikoi_noriko shared their own take of the scene, while it didn't get that many retweets and likes (544 and 130 respectively) it introduced the hashtag to the Japanese twitter were it popularized.

I don't have a link on me at the moment, but there's someone who did a version of this where Usagi looks like she came out of Slayers or Saber J; I appreciate that one, it's much more indicative of what 90s anime looked like. Especially since Ikuko Itoh's (phenomenal) art is what people think of when they think "90s anime".

I don't know why so many people started drawing Usagi all of the sudden but I've seen some really cool drawings, although there are also some very funny ones. One that I found funny was a crossover between The Simpsons "Steamed Hams" meme with Usagi drawn in Matt Groening's artstyle, which for me is even funnier considering that Usagi's latin spanish voice actress used to voice Lisa Simpson as well.

I have no Twitter unfortunately, but it is on other websites like Deviantart, I think I'll take my own takes on this...

The funniest one I've seen so far is Elfuda cosplaying as Moon, that one is just perfect, along with one that has Donald Duck doing a cosplay. Laughing

Not all of them are "wild" and "cute" though.
