Understandable, lives are more important than anime. I've been enjoying this season so far, so while it hurts not getting any new episodes after next week, I would rather have the season be delayed so the cast and crew can stay safe and healthy.

This does make me wonder how many ongoing April anime can actually manage to finish on schedule by the end of June. (We know Jashin-Chan season 2 is finished already, and Bakarina done on February, Sing Yesterday for Me’s director confirmed the production is done since the end of last year via Twitter. Anything else? We don’t know)

At this rate, I don’t think it would be a given that upcoming July anime would air on time, it may sounds pessimistic, but there are only a handful of slots available to accommodate those delayed shows, and that is assuming they are finished in the first place

I think if a show hasn't wrapped production already, or isn't within spitting distance of doing so, it's not going to finish its run. On top of that, it's almost inevitable that the July season is going to be gutted as well, as they should in theory be grinding through the production for those now. After a couple of months of "phoney war" with COVID-19, Japan's only now really moving to the kind of lockdowns that have been in place in Europe (and parts of the US) for a month or more.

They've got a long way to go on this, to the extent that the Fall season may also be at risk. That's going to depend heavily on just how much production work can be done remotely. Some parts of that are going to be easy, but others, like voice recording, are going to be much harder, notwithstanding efforts by VAs to set up home recording studios.

Given the low pay and insecure conditions across much of the industry, a lot of people working in it are unfortunately going to be in for a rocky 2020.

I am going to have to second this. This is just start of snowballing. Things here in Japan starting to get bad, and is going to get worse. Expect to see many if not most shows end midway through season, and maybe little to no shows at all for summer or fall.

I agree. Their health is important. It's really sad how this month and beyond is getting worse. I hope everyone is alright for the time being. Crying or Very sad
