Not gonna lie, at first I thought the summary said “just pure, smutty, romantic escapism”. Nice to see female oriented fanservice titles taking up some shelf space, though that title sure is something!

It does have some fairly explicit sex scenes, yes, though from the five-ish minute first episode of the anime, this seems to have a lot more plot development (whereas the anime felt more like it was meeting a "one sex scene per episode" quota). But like Rebecca said, these seem more of the shoujo variety of smut rather than the gloopier, ahegao-centric versions of doujin hentai.

That's a good way to put it - the sex scenes in the manga are meant to enhance the romance plot (and show that Souma is not good at using his words to express his feelings) rather than existing as the plot. They're a bonus, not the point. (And yes, no glop and no pubic hair.)
Honestly, it really is like reading a romance novel, just with pictures.

So you are saying it's a decent 18+ otome game visual novel.

Yeah, kind of. A Western genre romance novel is still closer, but there are definite similarities with the (admittedly few, because legal availability and I'm annoying that way) 18+ otome games I've played.

That Soma guy looks like Sosuke Yamazaki from Free! Eternal Summer.

finally a TL genre gets a official English license. I'm tried of the pure teen romance that just handholding, I like trashy smut and adults actually having a sex life.
for people who don't know what TL is, think Harlequin or exotica but manga form.
