Cool. The Far Beyond The Voyage OVA's are a nice consolation for a lack of a second season. I wonder if Viz finally got disc rights for it.

I may eventually have to give this series another shot.
Started out great.. then flop. I don't think I made it past 5 episodes.

That was my experience when I tried watching it a few years ago but I never finished it. Isn’t it written by Urobuchi?

Fantastic series. It’s still on Netflix, however the OVAs weren’t, so I’ll be able to watch them now.

Hmmm. I did see it all, and I rather feel some things should be allowed to die a decent death and be forgotten.

I recall the OVAs were meant to be an intro piece for a planned S2 of Gargantia, although in the end the planned anime was cancelled. Although, they did novelize the planned sequel's story.

It's a shame the OVAs never got dubbed, but at least it's readily available on Hulu and (sans the additional episodes) Netflix.

For such a mellow, almost slice-of-life style mecha series, it gets a lot more bleak and complicated after that point. It's just a fine series overall, but I'd recommend checking those episodes out.

Yeah it is a real shame that s2 got cancelled, i still have no idea why, the real problem is the novel never got translated so there is no way to read it.

Episodes 14 and 15 are included in Viz's BD/DVD release. The other OVA's had never been legally available outside Japan.

The 3rd and 4th book of the series is being translated in secret, from what I head the 3rd book is almost done. When I know where it will be released ill respond here.
