What songs from animes would you like to play on a guitar-type video game (i.e. Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Frets on Fire, Freetar Hero)?
i would love the song "brainstorm" from BECK:Mongolian Chop Squad it's one of the more catchier songs from the series, while the guitar part is good, it'll be a rare time that the bass will be cool to play too, and the majority of the songs in Guitar Hero have boring/easy bass parts another song i'd like would be "God Knows" from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya the beginning part of the song seems so challenging that i want to be able to try to play it |

I definately thought about Beck, but Brainstorm is the last I thought of. I'v never played Guitar hero but out of all the Beck songs the one I actually played guitar to was "Like a foojin". Still I think That an "anime song" will not be on a game like that in quite a long time. Unless you count the Japanese version.

I actually just started play GH3. It's the first time I've ever played any of these, and it's a hell of a lot of fun. But seeing as how the games were developed in the U.S., I doubt we'll be seeing a Japanese port. I'm sure the licensing and royalty fees would be a mess considering most of the songs are from U.S. or European record companies. I don't doubt the Japanese couldn't develop their own version, so maybe they'll make something similar one of these days.
As for what songs I'd like to have concerning the J-music scene, I'd love to play some L'arc, Nightmare, Beat Crusaders, Asian Kung-fu Generation, Maximum the Hormone, and of course The Pillows. Or, ooh, I think H.T. from Trigun would be a nice short bonus (though it's only a minute and half long). I'd really like some Scoobie Do, but not too many of their songs are that heavy on guitar, great sound overall, though . |

Isn't there a way to import your own songs? I don't know what system this is for if it is true, but I thought I remembered hearing something like that.

I was this close to making this topic, but you beat me to it, young98.
There's a ton of The Pillows songs I'd like to see in GH, but I think Ride on Shooting Star from FLCL would be just awesome. Tony K, I agree, HT would be really cool. And, to go on into J-rock that isn't featured in an anime, I'd flippin' LOVE to play Dahlia by X-Japan. It'd be pretty darn hard, but so worth learning. Also, Riyuu by Dir en grey. The guitar is very memorable in that song. |

haha, i was so sure that this topic had already been made, so i was looking it up, but seeing as it hadn't been made yet, i decided to post it up, i was playing GH3, and was thinking i'd like to play some anime songs on it, and not just imported songs made from amateurs (not that i can import songs on the xbox 360) but made from professionals like at GH3 Japan already has guitar games out, but i have no easy way of getting them, and plus, they don't really do anime songs, which is what i'm really trying to play, but i like AKFG songs from their albums |

I think the game you guys are looking for is Guitar Freaks which I should assume created the game style. Guitar Freaks and Drummania share the same song list and are usually found together in Japanese arcades. I skimmed through the songs and could only find a handful related to anime. Sailing Day, Galaxy Express 999, Sokabatsu, and Rouge no Dengon. I also noticed two songs which are kinda anime related: Glamorous Sky by Mika Nakashima and Ueto Aya's Ai no Tameni. |

I think that'd be pretty cool, like how Ready Steady, Go! from Fullmetal Alchemist was in Daigasso Band Brothers on the DS.
A friend of mine was actually able to edit his copy of GHII and he put the One-Winged Angel Advent Children remix on it. But he made it near-impossible to play. |

beatmania actually was there first. gh was a clever way to take the same concept (note-scrolling rhythm) and make it popular to a general audience (done by removing anything that made the game remotely difficult, and using songs to which people actually listen). |
