You didn't miss anything and you made a great decision. Now if you buy this game, you will make a mistake. |
Sure if you among the brigade of whiners still upset at the north american version of the game being edited. Or the equally small contingent of SMT/FE fanboys upset that the game is essentially Persona with an emphasis on idols.

Hasn't come out yet, but yeah, after news it was going to be the censored US version even in Japan the Wii U version rankings shot up on Amazon and overtook the Switch version from people buying the old Wii U version

The story was a lot of nothing fluff but it easily has my favorite turn based battle system. There's a lot of depth and strategy packed in there.

Buying the game doesn't mean you support censorship of art though. No one I know is buying the game because it's censored but because of the concept of the game itself piqued their interest. As mentioned you don't have to like it but it's little point in whining about it.
