Because a story centered on a single character's glorification, spiced with some "GAME PLAYERS WELCME ONLY" cameo or episodic stuff where the characters only act out their one gimmick (aside from said one character, Tae) surely beats a story showing a band forming and getting better, with actual character interactions. Or is it the cheap-ass CG that's totally unprofessional, choppy, and not fit for a series that you are so crazy about compared to decently drawn animation which makes the characters attractive, even?
Yeah, S2 (and inevitably S3) are just bad, go and fanboy about the game references instead of looking at the series themselves all you want. If S1 is cringe, S2 is pure self mutilation. |

I've never played the game. My viewing order:
Pastel Life -> Garupa Pico -> Season 1 -> Season 2 My preference: Garupa Pico/Pastel Life > Season 2 > Season 1 Season 1 looked good, sure, but it was not a good watch. I can't even say much about it because it was so forgettable, though I only watched it one year ago. I do remember that Arisa was annoying in it. The live house owner was cool in concept but unnecessarily harsh, and not in a way that convincingly seemed helpful, like the teacher in Hibike Euphonium or the grandmother in Hanasaku Iroha. The currently airing "After School Dice Club" has its own questionable drama and IMO is not a great show overall, but it handles ~teen girl creator gets a harsh wakeup from an industry veteran~ much better than Bang Dream S1 did. Season 2 got similarly bogged down in irritating drama toward the end, but it was a lot more fun overall. I'm not sure what it will be in "this fanbase", but I can tell you that among people who actually watch the series' worth, you won't find many preferring S2 to S1.
It had no soul, it had no story, it had nothing, but Tae glorification (other members were basically shat upon), and a few other band episodes that were drawn-out cameos. All this with eye-cancer CG. The worst to date. |

People think that S2 and S3 are trash because of CGI? ridiculous.
That 2d of first season was trash and always deformed, the CGI atleast keep the good design (similar to the game) and if you say that is not fluid, not even s1 was, so i don't know why people hate, is just for being CGI i think, not that is actualy bad. |

No, you got a lot of reasons why people can hate it, don't conveniently ignore them.
And yes, a horrible CG like this is bad. It's cheap, it's lazy, and it looks so bad you want to scratch your eyes out mid-way. But that was far from the biggest problem with it. You might be a Roselia fan, or you might think Tae is the neatest thing since sliced bread; unless you fall into either category though the series has zero enjoyment to provide, so you can stop shilling. |
