I'm not. Honestly, this game was a marketing disaster the first go. You would think they might have learned their lesson but this news just seems spiteful and bizarre.

Nintendo may have just doomed another Treehouse. Remaking this game was a big mistake especially these days since Nintendo still censors 1st party games and crossover games with 1st party franchises, it's 3rd party games that don't get censored (unless you are releasing very specific old Saturn titles which have to be censored due to CERO regulations not Nintendo's).

"We cannot ogle underage girls in bikinis! Censorship!"
Pbbbt, these guys need to learn some self-awareness. I figured that was going to happen and, overall, nothing important was lost when the game was localized the first time around. With FE blowing up in recent year I think TMS will be fine

The funny thing about the US version is that it lead to a changed Japanese dub with the 2 leads now being 18 instead of 17 and the (harmless) sex jokes and the icky gravure sub-plot
being changed to whatever the hell the US version had. Aside from the constant panty shots being removed and the dreaded lack of "vagina bones". Oh incels, you invent the funniest words. That´s why they could easily do a unified version this time around.
The story and characters are abysmal in either version so who cares. I still can´t believe I finished this game. Especially is it lacked portable play and heavily relied on grinding.

Nintendo literally has porn on their online store (censored porn, but still!). Safe to say they don't really care.
I would bet money on this is all Sega. They've been pushing to adopt western sensibilities and to focus on the American market for the past few years. They're on their way to be the next Sony. Remember, Sega bought Atlus back in 2013 and the recent Yakuza and Catherine remasters were also censored and had content removed. It's definitely them.
Hope y'all enjoyed Persona 5 guys, something tells me Persona 6 is going to be quite a different game.

First of all, there's no "underage girls" in a video game, because they're fictional characters. They're not real "girls". Second, why are people not allowed to complain about censorship? Imagine if they removed everything red from a game because bulls are offended by the color red. That would be insane. Same crap. Censorship is dumb. Put an age limit on the purchase and move on

I would think people would be fine with that considering it could lay the groundwork for the Dreamcast 2 people have been wanting for Sega to drop :S

I don't remember hearing anything being removed from the remasters of Yakuza 3 or 4. Outside of them replacing the actor who played Tanimura for petty reasons.

I think people would be fine with 6 avoiding including problematic stereotypes of gay people.

Well for one they're not remaking it, they're porting it for two with Nintendo's and other publisher's mentality being to see if games that were originally released on the WiiU (and did poorly because of the system's lack of success) they're doing this to see if the game can be a success on the Switch.

Yeah I don't think they're trying to be spiteful to a group of people most of whom already had their minds set against buying the game originally once they found out it wasn't their ideal SMTxFE crossover they thought it was going to be.

After saying for that for the last 4 months no less

Am I the only one that finds it funny that people are complaining about people raging about censorship and yet the most aggressive posts in this thread aren’t even from anti-censorship people?

It's 2019. They've been called the alt-right for a while now.

For not buying a video game that has 4kids levels of censorship (who on earth censors a wedding dress?).... that’s one hell of a reach there buddy. As others have said, the most aggressive comments here aren’t even from the anti-censorship crowd lol.

I feel like I'm the only one (generally speaking of course, not literally) that is totally okay with Encore being based off of the US Wii U version of the game, heh.
I still plan on getting it (again in this case since I bought it on the Wii U when it originally came out) and I am quite aware of the censorship changes. I honestly don't blame them for at least a few of those changes, especially the storyline for Chapter 2 (if it's the one I'm thinking off).

Yeah that was probably the one thing about the censorship that bugged me. I remember the censored dress looked worse than the original version.
