Superstar Saga was my childhood, replayed it so many times I actually lost count, and I would go on to play the preceding "sequels" as well. Thank you for the memories AlphaDream

The simple is answer, is that alpha dream's products were simply not making enough money to recoup the budget that was spent on them.

The series peaked with the third game. Damn shame,it was a fun series with a cute sense of humor. I'm guessing the dumb idea of remaking,Inside Story, didn't help them (the game wasn't even a decade old)

Unfortunate but I can't claim to be surprised. Mario & Luigi games are really all they make and those have been both slow and steadily doing worse and worse, to the point the Inside Story remake was a complete bomb. And it's been pretty clear for a good while where they've been looking for ways to cut the budget on them.

Inside Story was the best and most creative of the games, especially with the boss battles where you had to do stuff either inside/outside Bowser to help out the other. Dream Team and especially Paper Jam felt like huge steps down, and I didn't like the shift away from sprite art to the 3D models. Considering the last two games were just remakes, it's not surprising the series had a huge fall off.
