Saw it at the Fantasia world premiere. Beautiful little short. Highly recommend checking it out.

It looks like it was made by Studio 4°C, not WIT.

I assume you're talking about the guy with horns? He's not a yokai, and he's not a bird or a rat. As the summary described, he's mysterious and has a demonic appearance.

The article says "demonic guardian."
If it looks like a yokai, and walks like a yokai, and quacks like a yokai...

Almost looks like the work of Russian animator Yuri Norstein (not too surprising, as the manga looks like it could come from a European artist).

Looking forward to this.

It really does. It looks to me like it's taking visual cues from Comedy, which was one of the shorts in the Sweat Punch anthology back in 2002.
