Well, that was obvious since its 3 years for a series. Find out more at Jump Festa.
I just want a remake of the Yugioh manga (25th anniversary is in 2021). I wish they weren't so focused with selling cards that they'd let another studio make it without catering to people who only started with cards and not alter the plot. They could have 2 Yugioh series eventually running at the same time focusing on different audiences (2020 for anime and card folk; 2021 for manga fans who want the true story created by Kaz).

Every Yugioh article I have to point this out and no change has been done whatsoever. Hosoda directed the 1st 13 episodes of VRAINS. Asano Katsuya has been directing the anime since episode 14 to current.

Calling it now! The new and exciting stage for Yugioh will be.... POLITICS! Yes. The recent artwork posted by the author was no mere "mistake". Donald Trump will make a special cameo in the series for the first time and will utter the words "Make card games great again!" The main character's catchphrase will be "Its time to V-V-V-V-Vote!"

I also second that I would love a reboot that is more faithful to the manga and adapts the entire story from the beginning, especially as we never got the Toei show in the West, and now we're finally getting subbed simulcasts. If not a reboot, I would also love an anime adaptation of the Yugioh R manga.

I don't really see the point. Duel Monsters does follow the story of the manga outside the very beginning of the manga. It skipped a lot of the early filler game-of-the-week chapters because they weren't popular with readers so I don't think many people would be interested in that. Yu Yu Hakusho's anime adaption did a similar thing where they skipped over a lot of chapters where Yusuke is still a ghost and solving random cases and skipping straight to him getting his body back. But after that, the story is more or less the same and the anime covers the rest of the manga. There's no real need for reboot.

Skipping the Death-T arc arguably alters Kaiba's motivations for wanting to defeat Yugi so badly. The Duel Monsters anime also made some changes to the manga like keeping characters who die in the manga alive in the anime even in the sub, toning down some of the more brutal scenes in the manga even in the subbed anime, and softening Jonouchi's gangster background, completely rewriting the Dungeon Dice monsters arc, and adding a lot of goofy filler in. The Duel Monsters anime isn't really a bad adaptation and I enjoy it a lot but I think Yugioh could benefit from a more faithful reboot, especially with fans of the original now being older.

I’d love a remake of the original series without filler.

My guess is that we're getting a proper adaptation of the Shadow Games arc from the manga. Yeah, we have Season Zero, but it's too divorced from the Duel Monsters anime to count.

Arc V would've been a great series for the 20th Anniversary, since its about visiting worlds from the past series.

Which becomes a bit funny with Bandit Keith who Takahashi is on the record of mentioning as being one of his favorite characters. It also becomes rather moot with the fact that what few deaths there were in story, were of largely minor characters who had little to no impact on the plot.

Benefit how with the fact the second anime became more popular than it's original manga?
Plus you could easily run into the same problem that DragonBall ran into with Kai.

It would probably do more to revitalize the franchise than most of the spin off AU shows have been doing and I say this as someone who has been enjoying Vrains.

Wouldn’t surprise me if it was a reboot adaptation closer to the manga. After all the current cardfight vanguard is doing

The problem with a reboot is the TCG. The game has evolved so much since the original show, that I don't see Konami shedding that many gameplay mechanics. You're probably going to get a rewrite that accommodates these changes.
