In Kare Kano Vol. 17, there's a scene where Kazuma, who sings with a rock band, loses himself in the moment at a concert he's attending. He starts singing along with what the jazz pianist is playing, and it becomes a musicians' duel. The pianist makes subtle changes to the songs and Kazuma adapts each time. It ends when the with the audience cheering the ad-lib performance and Kazuma snapping back to reality, realizing he interrupted another artist's performance.
While reading that scene, I was thinking how fantastic it would be animated. The music, the crowd's reaction, the subtle changes in the performance, I think it would really work.
What are some scenes in a manga that you would love to see animated? Why?

I know this will sound pervy but whatever. I'd love to have seen the part in the last volume of Ai Yori Aoshi where Kaoru and Aoi make love animated. I wouldn't want it to be graphic or in bad taste, but done exactly as it was in the manga. Anyone who read the manga all the way through knows it was an important scene as it was the culmination of the entire story. They finally got to be together and express their love for each other and commit fully to each other. It really did symbolize the two of them breaking free from having to hide everything and finally being able to simply be themselves and be in love. So I would have loved to have seen that part, and the story arc leading up to it, animated. And with the way they ended Enishi they could still do it in the form of a movie or 2-3 part OVA. It won't happen I'm sure but it's nice to hope.

I would love to see the part in Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind where Yupa, Asbel, and the Dorok girl (whose name has completely escaped me - I want to call her Hitomi because she looks so much like Hitomi from Appleseed, but I know that's not right ) find the colony of people living inside the Sea of Corruption animated. Even though I was reading black and white manga, I could see the vivid colors of all the plants and things in my mind, and I think it would be really beautiful if it were animated. Of course, I'd love to see the entire Nausicaa manga made into an OVA or short TV series; the movie hardly did this wonderful story justice.
I'd also die of happiness if the Osorezan Revoir arc from Shaman King were animated. It's such a sad, sweet, emotional story, and I think it would probably stand well on its own as an OVA. It also has an action-packed climax that would be really neat to see animated, with all of the demons and giant sword-cats and such.
EDIT: I finally remembered - the Dorok girl in Nausicaa's name is Ketcha.

I would like to see animated:
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle
Celes arc because
1. Virtually, there was no Sakura there. and r!Sayoran also didn't have any bigger role.
2. I love Fay/Yuui, they looked so sweat when they were small.
3. It explained this whole curse thing which I was interested in.
Fruits Basket
Obviously as a fan of IMO the most fantastic dark couple Shigure and Akito entire chapter 101, discussion between them from the chapter 132 and this scene when form volume 21 when Shigure gave Akito his jacket.

I'd kill to see any scenes from Otomo-sensei's Domu animated, if not the whole goddamn manga.
And if nobody does, then I'll do it myself (with a studio, of course) when I move to Japan, haha.

I think there's no question the Kakkashi Gaiden from Naruto needs to be animated, in one form or another. The manga version of it was just so incredibly powerful and exciting, there's no question it would just be stellar in anime form, especially since it's already finished, so you wouldn't have to worry about filler or dragging things out or anything like that. That's also why I want to see it as either an OVA or a movie, because I think if it were done in the anime as filler it would just get all caught up in this whole discussion of how much they need to drag it out so they don't catch up to the current manga material, whereas is as it's own standalone thing would give it a better chance to really shine like it deserves.

Anything Watase Yuu, PLEASE! I still can't believe that with her popularity only two series have become anime, Fushigi Yuugi and Ayashi no Ceres.
At least there is probably a very high probability that Genbu Kaiden will be animated, though hopefully not until the manga is finished (in about ten years from now, at the current release rate )

The entirety of Yotsuba&!, please.
This one is a no-brainer, it's already a huge hit with the hardcore crowd so producing an anime version pretty much pays for itself. It's cute, it's charming, and there will be bajillions of related merchandise (each sold separately). Although perhaps Kiyohiko Azuma has some deeply personal reason for not letting this one be animated. In any case, I recommend the production team that worked on Strawberry Marshmallow and Minami-ke, since they really seem to understand how to create a show about kids playing around and having fun.

Ooh, I've been beaten! Fruits Basket deserves far more justice than it got, especially with regards to Shigure's character. Don't get me wrong, I love the anime, but it's so warm-fuzzy simplistic compared to the manga that I consider them two different stories entirely.
Fullmetal had some moments, especially those in volume 10 that would have been AMAZING in animation, but FMA has already been wrenched clean of more story opportunities, and the anime had more than a few splashes of ingenuity to make up for the numerous action scenes it missed from the manga.
E.g. The fight between Wrath and Gluttony, the anime's (um) "interesting" approach to the development of Tucker's character , and the beautifully executed conclusion that would not have had the same impact on the not-heavy-dialogue-friendly pages of manga.

I'm reeaally surprised this hasn't been animated yet. Maybe they're waiting for something? I don't think Kiyohiko Azuma wouldn't want this animated... They must be saving it for the perfect moment!

Ah yes, I forgot to mention that! That fight scene in particular, yeah, but I would have loved to see the scenes from when they were all inside of Gluttony as well. That whole sequence was just epic! That and I think seeing Envy's true form from the manga animated would have just made me wet my pants out of awesomeness.
I don't know, it's a popular enough series, maybe we'll get an OVA or an alternate story series or something.....

I actually read somewhere that Kiyohiko Azuma didn't want Yotsuba& to be animated, bur unfortunately I don't have a source. If it's true; that's a shame. I'd love to see it animated.
I'd like to see Love Roma animated, any of it really. It's such a fantastic comedy. And more Fruits Basket would be wonderful, especially as they tackle some more darker stories later in the manga.

There is no possible way to express how sad that makes me if it's true. I wonder for what reasons would he not want it animated...?

I thought I read the same thing. The best I could find was Wiki's Yotsuba&! article referencing a 2005 Azuma blog entry, stating there was no plans for it to be animated at that time.
