Personally, I've never heard of her, and just wanted to see what comment was here. So looked her up on Wikipedia, and saw this:

The equivalent japanese wiki page makes it clearer [ペンネームは男性名義であるが、女性である]; it's a pen-name.

[names in -suke are some of the most strongly-gendered male names the japanese language and culture offers][/b]
