Unfortunately, being shown at a con is NOT the same getting a "wide Western release." Wait until you hear it's been licensed for home video in the US or is being shown in theaters. They show tons of foreign films at cons and films festivals that never get wide releases because the deals don't get made with film distributors or home video companies. Right now, we can consider the con showings and art house exhibition as basically ads for the eventual home video releases. I think the City Hunter likely will get a home video release in the US but it's been well over a decade now since the ADV Films releases of the TV series and its sequel OVAs and feature films. |

Person said hopefully, and I share the same hope, although sadly not too likely. City Hunter 1999 TV special (movie), so been 20 years, did NOT get a release in North American at all. So still waiting on that one too. |
