Nice. That definitely paid for the float in the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Very Happy Go Funi.

Broly's theatrical run in the U.S. isn't over yet. It's still playing in a few theaters through Thursday. I'm seeing it again tomorrow. Here's hoping it earns enough this week to break $30M.

Box Office Mojo is behind on reporting the international grosses. They haven't updated the numbers for several territories in about a week and aren't reporting numbers from non-Fox territories. I suspect the film's overall gross is over 100M at this point.

I was just going to ask how these are final numbers when Funimation extended the run through February 7. My local theater is airing it through February 6 with four showings a day.

There are plenty of countries in Europe and outside that haven't been added yet to these statistics, so watchmojo is pretty behind I'd say.

I'm amazed this movie is running for so long in The Netherlands of all places. We NEVER got anime movies, not even limited (until Your Name that is) but this one has been running pretty much consistently every single day.

Went to both English and Japanese version. What a time to be a weeb Very Happy

On one hand ... $29 million is great for a movie that only played in 1200 theatres and got next to no publicity. Outstanding. OTOH ... with just a little marketing and wider release this film could have gotten to $40 million and possibly $50 million. So both an outstanding showing of anime's potential in the American market - if they import and promote the right films because the Ghibli, Hosada, Shinkai etc. films that are blockbusters in their domestic markets are not going to attract as big an audience in the west as the shounen action/sci-fi films will - and also a missed opportunity, because not much is going to have Broly's western commercial potential.

Haha I had the same reaction. Though, I contacted the Dutch cinema's (Pathé and Kinepolis) they both said they would air the movie as long as there is high-demand for it. This is still the case, which is why they keep extending it. I also like how we get to see both the dub and sub versions here in Netherlands, not all countries are doing that.

Really happy to see how successful this became. The current overall gross is about $101.1 million.

Dang I’m jealous xD Only got dubbed here in America. Funi did both dub and sub for My Hero Academia so it doesn’t make much sense...

What's more is that the international gross they are giving is only it's gross in countries where Fox have distributed it.

So places like UK, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Spain etc aren't included into that.

True, I really didn't expect we'd get the Japanese version as well. I always go to Pathé in Breda which usually gets kinda shoved aside a lot when it comes to not-so-mainstream releases, but with Broly I was surprised to find out Breda screens both versions! This almost never happens, it's screening more often than Lego Movie 2's original English version.

I'm just baffled lol. So glad the movie is in high demand here <3
