Sugimori is a very talented guy. If it weren't for his great art, Pokémon probably wouldn't be the massive behemoth it is today. Not to mention the TV show wouldn't be as popular as it is now, nor run as long as it has. Anime traditionally catered to about 10-15% of the market; a very dedicated part of the market, but not huge. What the Pokémon TV show did in the '90s was explode that. Soon, after playing the Game Boy games, every kid in America wanted to watch the show, and anime was no longer a niche thing.

Nice to see Pulseman not be forgotten. I love watching Sugimori draw.
A new Pulseman game would be nice, but at this rate, I'd just be happy to have the original get a Switch release. |
