This whole project reeks of weirdness to me. Why does a property like Yuruyuri need a crowdfunding campaign? If the goal was met so fast, I don't believe they needed to take the money right away for this to be successful. And on top of that, are they only using the people who made Release the Spyce to do this because they're easily available?

I think is more for advertising (and they get money in the proccess), they make yuru yuri trending with this and play with the fans hype who wants another season or oomuro ke anime.
The same way Takahiro uses our hope to fund nowayu anime.

There's no way YuruYuri ever lacked a source of funding. This is indeed purely advertising, and it is working quite well.
The money people are putting in are pretty much glorified preorders.

That is really awesome. It has accomplished its goal and this campaign is far from the deadline. This seems like there is a better of seeing a fourth season.

I have to wonder why they never make a high production value project of popular and well loved titles like Yuruyuri, that also has tons of material to adapt, and instead only make zero budget low profile SoL for years.

Oomuro-ke anime please. Especially if you can bring back the staff from the first two seasons or at least get Ohta to direct.

You've just described 99% of crowdfunding campaigns.

Well, most of those can't start at all without those preorders existing lol spoiler[and then there's Shenmue 3]
For YuruYuri, well, I doubt the crowdfunding's goal was a fraction of the actual funding it is actually getting.
