This was going great right up to the moment they started going on about the Unicorn. Unicorn was a horrible Gundam series. So much infuriating techno-babble, ridiculous Mecha "powers", way too many people screaming at each other, incredibly over-cliched whining and naive protagonists, repeatedly referring to and addressing people by their full names as though we'd forgotten who they are... Awful. Really awful. Newtypes are one thing; psycho armor with mystical powers is something else entirely, and has no place in the Gundam universe.

Well that was interesting. Not surprising, the fights were good and I like were the story is headed atm. Personally I loved Unicorn so I'm looking forward to seeing the full version (whenever that may be), though for those who didn't like Unicorn you might want to steer clear of this especially since the video reveals an interesting piece of info about the Unicorn and it's umm.......very interesting to put it mildly. My concern is that at only about 90 minutes the story is going to feel rushed near the end especially with the all the different factions jumping in. Be nice if this was closer to 2 hours.
00 and G gundam would like a word with you. Granted you probably mean Universal Century, but even then this kind of stuff was going on long before Unicorn with CCA and even as far back as Zeta (granted to a lesser extent.) Newtypes and their powers are the center of the UC universe since the original Gundam series and their Psycommu system (Lalah Sun says hello?). More than Unicorn just admit you don't like UC in general. |
