Sad that I wasn't able to hear her sing in person (and now never will). Still, she deserves all the fan attention she's had since I heard her in Inuyasha all those years ago. Thanks again, Namie Amuro. Enjoy your retirement; you more than earned it.

A beautiful tribute. She's an amazing singer with a lovely voice and great music. I wish her the best in wherever she goes from here. Also, Happy Birthday to her.

Okay, I'm going to say something because I know it's been a loong time?
Ahem..."Namie Amuro' is still around?' Well now she's retiring.
I know of her as my old roommate was really big into her. And between us both I'm sure much of the music and labels she's been involved with made me realized just how prominent and involved she was. But then again this is really Japan news and for those really in the know. I wish her a fruitful retirement.

Wow. Pretty unusual for a huge established pop star to just retire, especially when she's still pretty young and looking great. But I guess that's the nature of the entertainment business in Japan. I wonder if she'll transition to some other public career or just drop out of the public eye entirely for the rest of her life. She may also stage a comeback at some point.
So yeah, I'll always remember for and associate her with her song Come (which was a Sophie Monk cover), which was of course one of InuYasha's ending songs.

A statue? Awesome.
Only right to have Amuro thank Amuro.
Congrats to Namie on a long career.
