The news concerning the sequel were so vague, what is it gonna be after all ? A fully fledged second season or some OVA ?

Good. Go make lots of money with these movies and then deliver a fantastic sequel.

I don't believe they have specified. I assume it will be a tv season.

I don't believe they have specified. I assume it will be a tv season. |
I believe at one point they said "production of a new episode is under way" when referring to the sequel, which might lead to worry.

Hopefully they will take away all the fetishism/otaku pandering from these. Made in Abyss would be great without those.

I understand that that aspect is more prominent in the manga, but it is very tame in the anime. I hate that the anime has gotten an unfair reputation as a child abuse fetish/pandering show.
