Guess I'll wait for the Japanese subtitled blu-ray when available. I never have any luck with US theaters showing anime.
Also, this should be interesting, unlike how 2 movies were adapted into DragonBall Super episodes.

I was so excited over those last DBZ movies, and hyped there was going to be a Super movie. Then they announced it was a Broly movie. Toriyama should have left Broly in the dustbin of the franchise, along with GT, or DB Evolution.

Looks like this makes Kale the real Legendary Super Saiyan and Broly the copycat since Kale was canon first. This'll be interesting. Hope the other Universes get involved somehow. Broly is equipped to wipe out Galaxies.

I feel the same way about Goku and Chi-Chi's marriage but I long ago accepted that we're stuck with this hastily put together pairing of people that Toriyama set up for no valid reason.

Crazy how they're really calling him Tupac Broly for this movie. I'm guessing Toriyama is a fan of old-school hip hop.

Hopefully they'll be a UK screening as well. We've had a decent amount of anime shown in cinemas here over recent years

We have to deal with Toei Europe unfortunately... There website has been down for a year anf they're still "fixing" it tells you everything you need to know... Have no faith we'll get this in Jan probably Spring time for us.

I think this speaks to what Super has been about lately. And it's a sad truth of the state of DB. Merchandising. Broly was a very popular villain among casual fans due to his brutality and savagery, so Toriyama is bringing him back. However, like with Frieza in the Resurrection F arc/movie, it's a bad move. Super is far too watered down to make a character like Broly truly work.

The only reason Super still exists is because of the unthinking fans who are SUPER easy to satisfy, no matter how many times it'd have stumbled and fall off the cliff, the brainiacs of the fanbase will be waiting on the bottom to catch it, just so they can be together at the bottom.
