Calamity of a Zombie Girl is one of the more entertaining anime horror movies I have seen and it feels like it used a B movie script. At one point a woman is running around with her detached head in her hands while dodging basketballs being thrown with enough force to put craters in the wall. It is not a movie that tries to be serious but I think it is sometimes nice to watch an absurd horror movie that just wants to have fun.

This was a truly terrible show. Within the first couple of minutes I'd been shocked at how stilted the dialogue was (english subtitles) and how unnatural the animation looked. Then it moved onto the "story".
I watched the whole thing to see just how bad a train wreck it would become, and man did it deliver. The only thing about this show that worked in any way was a single scene involving a sledgehammer.
This show definitely falls into the "so bad it's bad" category.

The correct term, good sir, is "so bad it's horrible".

Only if you want to get stuck on TV Tropes for several hours ... also, we've already seen that it doesn't fall into that trope as there is a positive review right above mine ...

When I first saw this show I was kind of like "lol this is kinda shit" but by the end, I kept thinking about it, and my feelings turned into love. This show was so funny. It was such a tacky, B-grade horror movie, full of the cliches and random twists to keep making you think "what the hell is going on". It was silly and over the top. I really enjoyed it. I've seen it twice and it was just as funny the second time, if not funnier.
I feel like maybe some people think the movie is trying to be serious but it's totally not. It's trying to be ridiculous and stupid.
Also, I love Euphrosyne so much. I would watch more of her adventures.
The basketball scene was one of my favorite parts. The "Goallll!" when the sister dumps Euphro in the hoop. And when Euphro glues her head back on, then the sister is standing right next to her... I chuckle remembering it.

Exactly, they perfected the art of utterly generic boredom. I watched 15 minutes and my mind was so numb I just turned it off.
Not to mention the sheer number of animation mistakes.

So it's essentially a super trashy, forgettable and poorly made series from the mid-00s that arrived a decade too late as a ONA.

I'm not sure I'd call it horror. I found myself rooting for the "monsters" and at the end the good guys won.
I found it interesting that the little sister was able to take her brother's heart from the right side of his chest.

Then I guess this is where "Your Mileage May Vary" "And Everyone Has Standards" comes into play.

I'm not usually a fan of horror, but I found this to be a lot of fun. At first I found it pretty lifeless, until the "mummies" showed up and started kicking butt. I think part of what made it entertaining was the subversion of the usual horror setup - in this case, the monsters are the protagonists.

The show takes a bit to get going, but once it does everything happens pretty quick.

Have you ever watched a Sci Fi channel (or I guess they're SyFy now) original horror movie? This seems to be that. I don't think there was an intention that it be taken with much seriousness, but its history makes it seem like it should be. I think the intent was for it to be a ridiculous story of gore and out-of-left-field twists. At the same time, i also think that if a decent budget and enough air time was given, it could be a full-fledged decent series. I don't know the production history, but I can only assume that there was some conflict about the direction of the production that held it up for the past few years, but because there was a contract in place to do something they wen't with a basic, low-budget, ONA just to cover the contract.

That is something I liked about it since at the start of the movie the college students were setup to look like the protagonists but it was slowly revealed that Euphrosyne and Alma were the real protagonists. The title and cover image for the movie did indicate that direction but it was still a good subversion of how this type of horror movie would usually treat the monsters in the story. It is unfortunate that only four light novels were published since the premise could have made for a good TV show.

I'm bit sad that people give this bad rating/score, but I'm kinda understand. A black comedy like this is not usually found in form of anime. I watched this with zero information about it, and actually I'm pretty confused at the beginning. But after I grasped the genre, this is actually fun, and the action part is good.
Of course not everyone can into black comedy, I get it. If you familiar with Hot Fuzz or similar movie, you'll understand this kind of story.
