Y'know, even as someone who has little truck with even mildly sexist tweets, this seems a step too far. As a 16-year-old, I definitely did not have the self-awareness to recognize what the possible repercussions of posting Dumb Internet Things could be as a normal civilian, let alone what it might look like if I later became famous. Punishing him as an adult for being young and dumb just strikes me as an overreaction here.

Even at the age of sixteen (the math seemed more like seventeen to me, but that's a quibble), I would certainly hope you would understand how inappropriate it is to talk about how funny it would be to kick pregnant women in the stomach and brag about forcing women to watch you watch pornography in public. Considering that there are firsthand reports about making unacceptable sexually-harassing comments towards his fans in present day, I don't think there is anything wrong with his ex-agency's choice to suspend his contract. |

Sure most sixteen years old have said some bullshit they regret, but it's not on that level. Also, how you acted in that time kind of reflect what you'll become. I would never want to deal with someone posting things as disgusting as he did. Does he deserve another chance? Everyone does, but he'll need to try that with people who don't know him, as people who knows what he used to post have all the right to avoid supporting him now. I think he should try to start again if he's really sorry. But in another area. He had his chance, he killed it. Time to learn and move on. |

In UK, the age of criminal responsibility is 10 years old.
At 16, even if you're immature you bloody well know what's right from wrong (I'm pretty sure I had a good understanding at age 7). People don't change that easily. The internet has the mysterious ability to draw out the true ugly nature in people. I wouldn't trust someone who actually said those things. The company has every right to dissociate from him. |

Well forgiveness is a concept that is gradually vanishing in the modern world though considering he was starring in Ensemble Stars stage plays I can understand why his talent agency fired him. It would be no different than if a female idol was mocking men on Twitter. The talent agency is going to be harsh with someone that is insulting their target audience.

"Forgiveness" is not vanishing. The world is "nicer" than ever, according to ever bit of data we have on such a thing. The problem is social media makes it easy to see how awful people are. He's a misogynist fool. Age is irrelevant. He got the rightful punishment. People generally don't change their opinions on such things like age 10-12.

"Okay he was just 16 how bad could the things he said have be-"
Kick pregnant women in the stomach? Force women to watch you watch pornography? Wow this is really textbook villainy right here. Doesn't it remind you of those guys in shojo (or shounen) series who everyone idolizes because they are pretty, rich and successfull but in reality they turn out to be real creeps and/or not-so-nice-people? |

That has more to do with general public's lust for blood and vengeance than any rational, scientific, or legal reason for setting the bar that low.
You probably don't even realize how neatly those two statements complement each other. |

What did he actually say, and what was the context? I've never seen it reported here. That matters.

I don't even know what you're discussing. He insulted his fans. Of course his fans don't like him as much as before. They don't need to, they weren't even friends, it was just a random guy they used to admire and they have no reason to admire him anymore. He has no audience anymore and doing more bad than good, so he was fired. The end. It's simple, really.
People lost jobs for actual unfair reasons before, and that's not even the case here. This is just how things are. |

Yeesh, I thought it was just insensitive high schooler stuff; a lot of this crosses a serious line, so I'll recant my previous "dumb kids" defense. |

The thing is bro, the stuff you typed, isn't something that could be passed off easily as a joke. It's stupidly vile, incomprehensible and all around just plain freaking nasty. There's no saving grace for you here. Actions has been made, and the repercussions that has been inflicted will not go away that easily.

Forget being fired, he needs to be charged as a sex offender. |
