Predicable result, apparently this guy pisses off both left and right wing of Japanese people (that is the main reason) plus overseas people mainly from China and Korea. Damn, he got attacked from all kinds of people.
PS: Left wing Japanese accused him because he mentions the war and casualties in the web version (not the refined, more polished published version) so casually, right wing or revisionists accused him because he basically admits the war is real, and they straight up jumped on him for that, so brutal, wow.
Update: Also according to Asahi news, publishers stopped printing new New Life’s official LN volumes due to internal and international backlash. This guy’s life has got worse for him.

Very dangerous precedent and pathetic attitude of the anime staff discarding all the work of the animators.
I hope to see the Chinese also erasing all their web novels that contain racism.

As I said in the other article
Oh boy ...

It really takes nothing to blow things out of proportion nowadays ...
Putting aside the nationalism of the author and historical tensions between the nations, I hope that what happened with [New life +] anime adaptation doesn't set a dangerous precedent of anime thought policing from other nations, in particular from china given its clout on the industry as the biggest overseas market. |
Mark my words ... something like this will happen again in the future ...
I hope that Seven Arcs won't be affected to much by the cancellation of the anime.

Im very dissapointed it has come to this. Actually sad.
I do hope the studio use the resources to animate something different instead.

Well, can't say I'm shocked.
From what I gather, it wasn't so much the content of the novel (that was relatively vague) as much as the statements this guy has made in the past.
All I can say is "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.".
Not much was lost anyway. I doubt this was anything more then a standard isekai harem show. We've only got got what... 6 left for that season?

Frankly at this point, since they barely started the early prep process and have not even started the voice recording process (also meaning they have not finish the screenplay at least) means there is really not much real loss for them aside from promotion and other contract-breaching costs, definitely could be much worse for them.

Friendly reminder that using social media in this day and age is on par with providing the ammo and loading the gun for your murderer. If you have unpopular opinion it's best to keep it on the down low.

Yeah I'm real concerned about the precedent this sets. The precedent of racists facing consequences for their actions every once in a while.
It's literally just like 1984!

Well well well... I guess people that's been noticing my comments about this work in particular will knew how I exactly felt about this. Time to pack up and go home.

Racism isn't an "unpopular opinion."
It's racism.

This is NOT racism, this is about nationalism quite different.
