So, I never got far enough in the SAO-verse to get to GGO, there's none of that 'die in the game, die in real life' and 'stuck in a video game' nonsense going on here right? It's just people playing a video game so they will have real lives as well? It being from Kino no Tabi's author has me interested at least.

I asked multiple questions. Is that response regarding there being a 'stuck in the game/die in the game; die in real life' premise or a response to whether or not we will actually see "real life" segments of these players?

Right sorry. No 'stuck in the game/die in the game; die in real life', and while they don't spend much time outside the game this spin-off does tell you more about the characters real lives than the main series does.
