The synopsis reminds me of Shimanami Tasogare, which I'm hoping gets a U.S. release at some point.

Thought so too. It will be interesting to see how each mangaka handles similar sounding stories. Both continue delivering high quality, important work.

I'm glad Gengoroh keeps branching out with more SFW series. His erotica tends to be a bit much for me, but I've always loved his character designs. His SFW series give me the best of both worlds and I really like how he's using them to explore important issues too.

I’m happy Tagame will have another more mainstream title. I like all his stuff regardless, but his full catalogue isn’t for everyone. Still it’s been disconcerting to see some people upset My Brother’s Husband is getting a good amount of attention (it well deserves) because they take issue with his long history in gay erotica.
As an aside I'm pretty sure Bruno Gmünder is dead this time. So that's a blow to creators and gay media among which was mentioned erotic comics in English.

Are people really upset Tagame writes smutty gay porn? Did they not know what he was famous for before writing My Brother's Husband or something? His porn is a little too violent for my tastes but honestly it's not that much worse than some of the yaoi stuff that fangirls eat up all the time like Dramatical Murder or whatever.

It's a shame there's a stigma about such a thing. I'm glad he's challenging it by releasing more mainstream titles.

I'm also glad Tagame continues to produce gay manga of all the varieties he produced before he published My Brother's Husband and am glad he continues to work in different media to educate people about the many aspects of homosexuality as well.
I'm also curious, though, how widespread are the specific reactions you mention?

Already at least one very important moment looks like it was done very well based on the video clip.
