No real surprises in which shows are the favorites from 1998. The only bit surprising thing for me is that I expected Outlaw Star to be in the top 5.

Gotta say I can so relate too, living in a mountainous area with lakes and waterfalls, the pines, the view of neighboring mountains and the hills.
I've always wanted to check out Encouragement of Climb, but for some reason it's not talked about enough that I dismiss it every now and then.
And I remember an episode of Tsuritama which at some point showed some life and death symbolism involving the watering of a plant, which got me dropped some tear.
The cat poll is sooo hard, until I realized I can choose up to three, lol. Then it become less hard

Best cat is Dora-nichov from The☆Doraemons, he's a robot cat that turns into a werewolf when he sees something round (including his own hands). You get the best of both worlds, doesn't matter if you're cat-lover or a dog-lover.
Also, it makes me happy to see mentions of Uninhabited Planet Survive.

This is a neat list. I might check some of these out at some point.
Regarding my own personal feelings towards camping, Boy Scouts killed whatever interest I might've had in it. I think the only way you might be able to get me to go camping is if it was something like what Pete and P.J. do in A Goofy Movie, with their ridiculously fancy RV. But then, what's the point?

It appears this column attracts a lot of Cardcaptor Sakura fans. Clear Card managed to hit #1 on the poll about most anticipated winter 2017 anime, and now the original's come in at #2 on a list of favorite series from 1998 (only being beaten out by Bebop).
As for my favorite feline, I had to go with Jiji from Kiki's Delivery Service. I was a bit obsessed for a while with finding the old Disney DVD of the film where he talks at the end, simply because I like that canon better.

With S3 coming up this summer, now might be the time. Crunchy has S1 but not S2 (which is fantastic). S2 isn't streaming legally anywhere that I know of.

Uninhabited Planet Survive was like Japanese LOST animated. The cast was trapped in an island. They have the typical characterization (heart, brains, asshole, silent, hardworking, etc). I don't remember having fond memories of it during my childhood

Uninhabited Planet Survive was great. Nice to see it isn't completely forgotten. There were lots of good things from that show. Though I wanted a better ending. Ah well.

Delighted to see Master Keaton in the list. I would've voted for it, but with only one choice allowed, well, Cowboy Bebop was my gateway drug, so there ya go.

Ranma 1/2 haha, I'm actually exactly in the middle of episode 23 when I took the poll, I kinda guessed it anyway

There probably a lot of anime cats I'm forgetting right now so I just voted for the first 2 that I like that came to mind: Chito from Flying Witch and Kohaku from In Another World With My Smartphone (hopefully that one counts). I think the cat familiar from Blade Dance of the Elementalers was also pretty good. A show that's airing right now, Record of Grancrest War, might have a pretty cool cat character but we are only 3 episodes into that show and we've only seen him for a couple of minutes.

Poll: I voted for Meowth, Luna, and Artemis. I particularly like how Meowth is attracted to shiny objects, including the coins produced from coin on its head.

So did I. To be honest, I hadn't realized how many people liked Serial Experiments Lain back when they first saw it on Sci-Fi Channel years ago, so that explains why it took the #4 spot here. Truthfully, I haven't seen it fully, only in fragments.

Hot damn, literally. I had no idea there was such a unique character in Doraemon.

You do know there's an option to add to the list, right?
