Katrielle being the star of the anime isn't exactly a surprise, but it's still a bit disappointing. I wanted a Layton and Luke-centered anime.

Oh well. Regardless of protagonist, I'm just glad we finally have a proper Layton anime series. And it does make more sense to advertise the latest game.

It looks like it could be a fun detective show and they seem to be hoping to make it into a franchise since they are adapting it into a shoujo manga.

They decided to adapt the worst game in the series (i admit i didn´t play the Layton Brothers spin-off). Confused
I also can´t wait for the big write-ups on the anime´s big "twist" and how does the studio want to address it anyway, as the game ends on a cliff hanger. There is also material for like 5 to 6 episodes to adapt. So yeah, this won´t work at all.

It won't necessarily be a direct adaptation.

Agreed, they might have a few episodes to cover the game but it will be at least a 50 episode show.

As long as it's better than the Ace Attorney adaptation

That's up for debate. The game's characters are not bad per say but they don't have the charm as the original Layton video game characters or even the OVAs.

Nani? Using actual anime seiyuu's instead of live-action actors? Plus, it's HANAKANA. Nice.
