Uweeh... Gakkou Gurashi works because of the stark contrast between the cheery moemoe aesthetics and attitude of its characters versus the gruesome reality of their world. I don't think they can really convey the former with enough intensity in live action.

Maybe this will help towards getting a second season...at least I like to hope. Also you put February 2019 in the article.

Who even asked for this? We fans have asked for a second season but not a live action. Just put the money toward a second season and then make a movie off of that profit, no? I don't want The Walking Moe

Don't speak for everyone, and even more for the Japanese - if fans was really asked about the second season, the first season wasn't flopped really hard in disc sales.
And yeah, it's business, and they can make the profit from the movie.

This is Japan we're talking about, where way more manga fans will go see this as a live action movie with some J-Pop idols attached to the cast than would ever admit to watching the late-night anime adaptation. Personally, as a much bigger fan of the manga than the show, I welcome more Gakkou Gurashi in any form.

While I wouldn't care for a live action adaptation, unless it really caught the magic of the anime, it's success will help for a second season.
