Happy to see this NHK "Asadora" announcement. Thank you for the extensive translation and write up. Looking forward to this, partially because of the subject matter, partially because of the cast. Really curious who'll join Suzu Hirose - in creating her character at various ages; and in the other roles as well. Hirose appears to be "everywhere" at the moment and I'm curious how she'll use the opportunities this role in a NHK morning drama presents to her, to further hone her acting craft. Most recently seen in the cinema in her role as Hibiki in "Sensei!" and I personally quite liked her in that adaptation. Hopefully Suzu Hirose can get the opportunity to mature, transition, into playing an adult, like her male co-star, Toma Ikuta, in "Sensei!" over the course of his career.

Any mention of "Chihayafuru" is also a welcome one. The spin-off manga by Oto Tōda will continue in the December 1 issue, followed by the resumption of Yuki Suetsugu's own main story in the December 15 issue of Be Love magazine. Six volumes translated and released in one year in Kodansha Comics' English edition while volume 36 is out in Japanese and jumped to the top of the Oricon sales chart this week. The "Chihayafuru: Musubi" film has apparently been completed - quite possibly - ready for test screenings and its theatrical release in March 2018. Hirose reprising as Chihaya. I liked what she brought to the role in Koizumi's reinterpretation for the big screen.

Eventually we may also learn on whom the characters in "Natsuzora" are - Hirose's character is- modelled in this announced dramatisation, fictionalisation, of the birth of the Japanese TV animation industry. 2019 is still a ways away but we have some other drama and films to tie us over until then.
