Even Magna was starting to imitate his style of screaming at the end of sentences. /(>.<)\ Couple that with the go-nowhere episodes, and I think I'm just going to watch the dub instead, once it catches up on adult swim around Feb. |

Considering they're past chapter 130 and the season is only 51 eps, you have to wonder if they're already stretching things because they're planning to go far past that episode count. |

^I suspect it's more to do with how they've planned out the arcs to be adapted for each cour. The way things are playing out, this first cour should cover up to (manga arc name spoilers): spoiler[around chapter 20 with the Dungeon Exploration arc)]
Heck, considering this pacing and the episode count I wouldn't be surprised if each cour was going to cover a single story arc apiece. Meaning we'd probably end with the spoiler[Seabed Temple] |

Well, they managed to insert some filler again, finish up the last chapter, then animate the next chapter (they left out part of chapter 7, but I'd say this was a better place to end than the manga chose), which still puts them 1 chapter behind a rate of 1 episode per chapter -.- in other words, after 9 episodes, the anime has only managed to adapt not quite 7 chapters of manga. And for the record, Black Clover is a typical 18-page weekly manga, which tend to get adapted as 1.5-2 chapters per episode as seen in other works, aside from the long first chapter which usually is adapted into episode 1.
The last anime I watched that did filler this early was Beelzebub. The production quality on that show was lower than Black Clover's, so I'm really hoping BC doesn't follow it its footsteps D: @lossthief: I'd be happy if that were the case, since that at least means we'll be getting some actual plot movement over the next 3-4ish episodes. |

that is IF IT EVER gets released on adult swim. i mean if my hero academia haven't gotten one, its more or less not a guarantee that black clover will get one either and the former series more popular than the latter so that's saying a lot. |

I totally agree on the mix of strong and negative traits in this episode, but I still found it heartening to see Noelle finally step up her game and accept the responsibilities that go with her royal blood instead of just relying on the status. If this new spell and her trouble controlling her magic on attack is a sign that she's meant to be a defensive specialist then that's all good, as a powerful defense would still make her a highly valuable team member.

Honestly, I think that their grimoires respond to the wishes of the mage. I think Noelle had/has some serious self-image issues, and may even hate herself to a degree, and her ability to do magic reflects that. It was only when she *really* wanted to do something, without any internal conflict, that her grimoire created a new spell which she *immediately* cast properly.
Basically, I think she's been at odds with herself and that's why she can't use her magic properly. Also, I think this whole "force your magic to obey you" thing is the wrong way to go about it. Shouldn't she be trying to trying become more attuned to her powers instead, sort of like a Jedi does with the Force? Oh, well. Maybe I'm wrong as I don't know much at all about this setting yet. This was a decent episode -- workmanlike, I'd say. |

Seems like a reasonable theory and would be a good stopping point, though the previous arc also would be a good break point imo. I'd really like to see the following arc (spoiler[Witches' Forest ]) animated, but that would probably cram too much into 51 episodes. Heck, spoiler[Seabed] might be too much to fit. Guess only time will tell |

With the latest episode of the dub we can now safely say that Justin Briner is the voice of the best boys. He fits so god damn well for Luck. The best VA for BC's best character.
The guys voices so many of my favorite characters too. Deku(MHA) Mikaela(Seraph) Luck Shinomiya(Kiss him not me) Alfonso.(Garo) |

See, this is why it's frustrating to see filler this early, they could have adapted the LN material so that this ^ arc makes sense to those who only followed the manga. |

Sure it's been confirmed 51 episodes for now, but nothing say it won't get more. Look at World Trigger or MHA or every JUMP series. If it does well, we will see more. But yea I am with you, I want to see spoiler[Demon Asta and Fairy king Yuno in anime form.] |

Imo that arc will definitely get animated because otherwise it'd make no sense for the writers to foreshadow spoiler[Asta's demon transformation] in the first episode. |

It's not an if. It's already been announced. |

Early filler delaying plot advancement resulting in lower interest in the series could result in not getting more :/ |
