is it really bad to be a manga and anime fan?? i taught all japanese read manga and watch anime...why do they hate it?

@shiora : not all japanese does (read/watch manga/anime),but rather a large number;safe to say the majority i guess. Not really bad to be manga/anime fan as long as you don't lock yourself in your room most of the time/ has few friends/ rarely goes out/ talks about them (manga/anime) ALL the time; hence become too unsociable and insensitive towards the opposing sex. <-- guess that's why "they" hate it. it's not really a bad thing,depends on the environments around you..i guess. Well first remember that while we western fans take "otaku" mean something akin to the term trekkie the japanese, see it closer to the ADV translation (fmp) of "maniac". It is not a good thing to be a japanese otaku. An otaku is someone who watches far more than what could be considered normal. The stereotype is that of an pimpled loser who at 20+ lives in their parent's home because they don't have a REAL job yet. Among other things, that i really don't have the ability to fully express. |

Nah. More like reverse "Train Man," in every sense of word.
I'm not a fan of that character design though. Moe, again? -_- I like Asahina Mikuru as much as the next man, but jeez. |

Unfortunately, Train Man isn't so much an anime series as, well, a bunch of media. It started as an epic forum thread and spawned a bunch of manga versions, a television series, at least one movie, and probably a lot of merchandise. But no anime yet. 
Short synopsis: Otaku boy meets sweet, beautiful girl on a train. He defended her from a bunch of thugs or something. A few days alter, he received a gift from the girl in thanks, and an expensive one at that! From that day onward, Otaku boy swears off his Otaku so he could be with the one he loves...and asks people on the internet for advice like dating, stopping otaku behavior and addiction, and all that. Ordinary boy meets amazing girl. Does everything in his power to be worthy of her. Usual romance plot. Hot property. I said that this Nogizaka Haraku no Himitsu thing is closer to a "reverse" Train Man because 1) it's the girl that's otaku instead of boy, and 2) he's probably going to fall into otaku-ness (or accept hers -- though I obviously never read the novel so I dunno) instead of getting out of it...and for love too!
Although the other poster might be more right than I am.

It really doesn't sound very much like NHK to me. The only thing that really is reversed is that the otaku is female, while NHK have males. But that's pretty much it. Even Train Man seems to be fairly different, as does the other title mentioned (going off the given synopsis for those, since I haven't seen/read either of them).
It might not be the most original, never before thought of idea, but I don't think you can really call it a rip-off (at least not without seeing it). |
