How can Polygon Pictures make something look so beautiful..... yet so disgusting at the same time?

It fits with Godzilla, though.

i find it ironic that Mamoru Miyano also played an Ultraman, who fights kaijuu, i am waiting for crossover fan arts to pop up because of that.

The characters and mecanical designs are quite fitting, but I can't say the same goes for the CGI quality of the very characters and the machines, while other elements look good, like Godzilla, the VFX, particles, the terrain and other monsters. It's very strange too that they haven't used other techniques that have prooven to be better for the cellshading effect than the ones they are using here, which, in essence, are the same that were used back when Sodionia no Kishi was released in 2014. Just look at Valkyria Chronicles, or Breath of the Wild, that kind of cellshading works very well even with highly detailed machine models and materials, so I don't really see why they want to keep using this outdated and, really, pretty ugly cellshading effect that falls into a very strange uncanny valley that doesn't look good as 3D nor as 2D. Then there's also the strange problem that keeps happening in many CGI productions made in Japan, it could be related to the "quality" of youtube's video (which also has weird scanlines, not sure why some videos get that nowadays) and its the FPS issues, some scenes look like the render farms struggled to render them properly and used frameskipping, something that should only be used in realtime 3D video, like videogames.
Still, this is only related to the looks, the story on the other hand seems very interesting, and something more akin to the present, unlike the more traditional Godzilla films (including the latest Legendary production) which only seem to tackle the sudden invasion of Kaijus. Also, a 20,000 year old Godzilla sound very fun.

As much as Polygon is my favourite animation studio, I still hate the fact that they skip frames. They know what they're doing but it doesn't look that way when so choppy. Oh well, still excited.

Still on the edge over this. On one hand I do like Urobuchi as a writer and outright love (nearly) anything Godzilla. On the other hand, I'm not sure about this whole "War of Godzilla" feel that this has. It brings back Final Wars memories and while that film is some dumb fun...
reembers the mutants fight scenes
Yeah... I'm hoping for Revenge of Iris, expecting vs Destoroyah but getting ready for vs Hedorah.

This to me looks interesting considering the fact that this film has a cast that is unrivaled.
Now, if this were dubbed, who could be cast to match up with these characters?
What is Netflix looking into?
