Man, I wish I could have been there to seem him work. He's a fantastic artist. The bit about him still being under tight manga deadlines is all the more impressive! Nice interview. ^^

That mural looks great. Next time I go to the city, I'll make sure to go see it.

I'm still wondering what his thoughts are about SD appearing in Battle Royale...

Wow, that is amazing! I have to remember to check that out the next time I'm in New York. I was planning to go for a little window Christmas shopping in December, so I hope I remember to go there.

wow, i just got back from the city and went to Kinokuniya. It truly looks amazing. I stayed there for about 10-15 min just staring at it. They moved Kinokuniya nearer to time square which is very convienent seeing as im a 'jersian'. The store looks amazing. Tons of great lit and cool music cd's.

It looks great. Too bad I won't get to see it live.
It is very nice to see Inoue getting the recognition he deserves.

Anybody else excited that Viz has announce Real to be release in July 08? And Lost Odyssey is probably going to outclass final fantasy 13 in 08.
I like his jean and sweater at such a formal event, lol.

Inoue's work is breathtaking. Every time I see his art--be it this stunning mural or the arresting art produced in his manga, I'm blown away. Truly a magnificent artist. I hope I get to check this out some day, and I'm definitely going to get my hands on WATER and SUMI when they come out.

Check out the Water artbook on the bookshelf in the first picture of the mural.

Both artbooks have been out for a while now.
But I'm one of the lucky few who live in the city. If it wasn't for certain life situations at the time, I would've gone in a heartbeat. Inoue is one of my fave artists and I was anticipating for this event.

this was an awesome event, my friend and I just happened to go Kinokuniya and buy tickets from New York Anime Fest and somehow we got lucky enough to head upstairs and watch Takehiko Inoue paint finishing touches on the Kojiro part. It was breath taking and amazing!
