Wish it was an anime dub, but still, if this happened... WOW.

Would have considered supporting had there been an original artwork tier.

It would be cool if they did this for the prequel (Fist of the Blue Sky) as well.

Aside from the tiers being exclusive to Japan and the USA (after someone finishes reading in the USA, they could always sell it on Ebay if they want), this is cool. What's even better is even though this project just launched, they are already near $80,000 on a $27,260 goal. They have just under 2 months left to finish this campaign. I still wonder how they condense 18 volumes into something that is perhaps as thick 1 volume.

Hum, it's an ebook? You know, digital and shit.

It's a really neat idea, but I really dislike the fact that it needs batteries.

I'll donate.

Gotta show there's interest when it's time to port that FOTNS Yakuza spinoff.

With enough Twitter bombing, we could may be even reach a higher amount than the "Aria" dub campaign.

Adding Fist of the Blue Sky as a stretch goal could be cool.

Man, I've wanted to own the complete Fist of the North Star manga for more than a decade now...This seems like a good option.

Huh. I generally hate digital products and refuse to buy digital manga, but something like that I might make an exception for, presuming it was a series I was more interesed in. The only problem would be translation quality of official translations, unless there was a way to jailbreak the thing.

Jesus that's expensive. It doesn't even have a backlight?

Well if the English translation for the whole series is done, here's hoping Viz decides to license it.

I almost lost it when the Kickstarter page suggested that this $200+ product was ideal for lending to friends, considering the amount of manga I lent out during college and never got back.

Seems like a cool idea. It would be something I would definitely look at if it was a series that I was interested in getting. I kind of wish they had just gone with the charge cord instead of batteries.

The explanation given on the KS page is because they want to maintain the illusion of it being a book, and having to plug it in to charge would remove that feeling. That being said, the KS page does mention that one set of AAA batteries should last long enough for a person to read the entire manga at least once.

I decided to put in a pledge while the Super Early Bird option is still available. Sure, $250 isn't exactly cheap, but I actually like the retro-futuristic concept (movies back in the day did show stuff like this as what the future would be like), I've always wanted to have Fist of the North Star legally in English, & the fact that I can put the entire series alongside my other manga on my shelf as a single book just appeals to me.
