Because he is a genuine otoko no ko, whose sex cannot be determined without a clue - that's why. But in the other place, the Spartacus... it's just hilarious. Just. Friggin'. Hilarious.

I voted for Riko in the ANN poll, along with Ange ("Angie") and Dorothy from Princess Principal. I guess the Re:Creators characters weren't eligible since the series started last season?
As always, my tastes do not correlate with those of fans polled in Japan!

Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters, Jigoku Shoujo: Yoi no Togi, Kirakira☆Precure A La Mode, and Sakura Quest aren't on the list. They're all currently airing. Don't they qualify?

The only one of those which started airing this season is Jigoku Shoujo. There are about a dozen other current-season anime with no characters, and probably none of the shows have every character in them: it would be very difficult to make a comprehensive poll. One would expect they'd let you add your own characters, but then people would probably try to add characters from three seasons ago.

The only choice in the poll that comes from a show I'm still watching is the Cheer Fruits heroine, so I guess I'm voting for her by default.
