Somebody needs to make a petition to get Netflix to simulcasting anime worldwide! I am really sick and tired of the complaints!!!

Seriously, I would put more faith in Sony Pictures TV running most of Funimation than Netflix's delay-cast catalogs.

Oh, No!
 That was my most anticipated show of next year. I mean I will wait for it, but I would have liked to watch it weekly. Guess Ancient Magus Bride won't have as much competition in the Winter. Just move to making original anime already, Netflix.

Here it is boys and girls. 2017 marks the beginning of the end of the NA anime streaming bubble. Thanks Amazon and Netflix. Bringing us back to the days of fansubs
 Sigh, it'll be a grueling 5-6 years for it to recover again if it's anything like the last crash.
I'm being dramatic of course but with the death of Daisuke, TAN, Funimation being bought out, and Hulu dropping most of their Anime, it's only a matter of time before CR is forced to do something. 2018 is gonna be pretty sucky. Honstly what was even the point of showing the first episode 6 months early to an American convention if they were gonna give the rights to a company that takes months and months to release it?? If they were doing it to increase hype, it was a waste of time because Netflix's release strategy KILLS hype. I'm watching this weekly if someone fansubs it, you can count on that.

Well HIDIVE took TAN's place and I like HIDIVE waaaaay more than I liked TAN, which is not at all. Hulu did not drop most of their anime. They've actually been adding stuff again. They did axe some stuff from their catalogue but reports of anime's death on Hulu were greatly exaggerated. Even though I did not like this news or Kakegurui coming to Netflix next year, I think Netflix has a positive role to play in the industry, which I hinted at above. Netflix made a lot of announcements the other day, and most of those were almost certainly Netflix Originals. I mean real Netflix Original anime, not distributing something that aired on TV months before (outside Japan). This is what I think Netflix should, and seemingly will be, focusing on. Helping make anime that may well not have been made without their involvement and distributing them (in their entirety as is their wont) everywhere at the same time. I just really want them to switch over to only that and not taking up some of the most anticipated simulcasts. I know it won't happen completely (sequels to their prior acquisitions will likely go to them) but I want them to move in that direction as much as possible, as soon as possible. |

Netflix can die in a fire. We already know they simulcast it in Japan. We KNOW they can sub it weekly like they did with Kuromukuro. There's no valid excuse for making the hardcore fans wait. We're the ones that care most about watching this. Everyone else will just watch it because it popped up on Netflix. We watch it because we truly want to. As others have said though, this kind of tactic will just lead to the rebirth of fansubs. I would feel bad for KyoAni and other companies but they made these deals. The view numbers will be lower than normal thanks to this tactic. Lastly, for me very personally, making me wait just makes it harder to avoid spoilers because I hang out in communities that have people that watch anime on Japanese television and such. Simulcasts reduced the risk of running into spoilers as much as possible. This garbage increases that risk a ton by making us wait up to 6 months (Japanese companies like to release "Spring" stuff days before summer starts...) |

Thank god someone understands me. I mean seriously you guys are acting like its the end of the dam world. Which is childish. Really. And I wonder how many people are actually subscribed/use legal streaming anyways, because I bet at least 70-75% of you all use illegal streaming sites to stream/download anyways. Which is just being a hypocrite. "Oh no I can`t stream my anime weekly! I`m doomed! Its the end of my world!" -via 99% of the people in this comment section. "darn I won`t be able to watch my anime weekly, but I am patient and will be able to marathon the whole anime in just a day or two." -via 1% of the people in this comment section. |
