How do you guys get the rating of the top shows. Like 9.06 for Samurai X, I know about the mean but how to you get it to that point.

Read under each top10 list. It gives you the formula to each type of calculation, however much it makes sense to you though. |

It does not make much sense to me though.

Like in the baythesian estimate, what is the average for the show? and the mean across the whole report?

I have a question also,
What's up with the rating bar lengths (excelent, masterpiece, etc). They don't seem to be proportional to their actual number of votes. Eg: The Masterpiece bar can have 9 votes and the excellent can have 8 yet the excellent bar appears longer than the other. What's up? |

Animatum, I'm not sure what you don't understand. If you plug in the numbers a show has gotten into those equations, these are the numbers you get.???(*Edit* If you're asking about simply an average, there is an average top rated anime as well on that page)
And to pitless, let me give you an example. If I'm a person who has rated 100 anime and 90 of those are worst ever, my worst ever carries a lot less weight than others. Thus, the bars for worst ever are shorter when you take into account a lot of people like that. Same as masterpiece. Usually these are the two you see the biggest differences in but it happens across the board in smaller amounts. |
